About the Net Metering Calculator Pakistan
Free Pakistani net metering and net billing bill calculator built for the post-Feb 9, 2026 NEPRA Prosumer Regulations 2026 regime (SRO 251(I)/2026). Enter your imported units (from the grid), exported units (to the grid from solar), DISCO (LESCO, K-Electric, IESCO, MEPCO, GEPCO, FESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, PESCO, QESCO, TESCO), protected / unprotected slab and current FPA / QTR. The tool computes your import bill using real slab math (100-100-100 progressive slabs, not flat rate), credits exports at the new Rs 11/unit NAPPP buyback rate for new prosumers under net billing, or the legacy 1:1 / Rs 10 reference for pre-Feb 2026 prosumers still under their original 7-year net metering agreement, and shows your net payable plus the savings versus the no-solar reference bill. Built specifically for Pakistani solar customers confused by the Feb 9, 2026 NEPRA policy change that abolished classic net metering, introduced net billing, dropped the buyback rate from Rs 27 to Rs 11/unit, shortened contracts from 7 to 5 years, added a Rs 1,000/kW concurrence fee, and stretched payback periods from 3-4 years to roughly 5-7. Pairs with our Solar System Size Calculator and 5kW Solar System guide.

NEPRA Prosumer Regulations 2026 (effective Feb 9, 2026)
Pakistan moved from net metering to net billing on Feb 9, 2026 under NEPRA SRO 251(I)/2026. Export buyback dropped from the old 1:1 retail tariff (~Rs 27/unit) to Rs 11/unit (NAPPP, national average power purchase price). Contracts shortened from 7 to 5 years. A non-refundable Rs 1,000/kW concurrence fee now applies. Existing prosumers with agreements valid on or before Feb 9, 2026 keep the old net metering terms until their 7-year contract expires (per PM Shehbaz's Feb 16, 2026 NEPRA amendment). New applications fall fully under net billing. Payback for typical 5 kW systems has stretched from 3-4 years to roughly 5-7 years.
Tariff data effective Q2 2026. Confirm current rates on AEDB net metering policy before signing any contract.
