Meezan Bank Saving Account Profit Rates 2026: 1 Lakh to 1 Crore Per Month

Rs 100,000 in a Meezan Bank saving account earns about Rs 562 per month at the current declared rate of 6.74 percent per annum. After withholding tax that is Rs 477 for a filer and Rs 393 for a non-filer.

That is the direct answer, from the declaration for the month ended 31 August 2026, published 2 September. It is a cut: July's rate was 7.04 percent, so a 1 lakh depositor earns about Rs 25 a month less than last month. Everything below is the same answer at other amounts, where the 6.74 comes from, and what pays more if monthly income is the actual goal.

Profit on every common amount, per month

At the 6.74 percent per annum rate Meezan declared for the month ended 31 August 2026:

DepositGross per monthFiler, after 15% WHTNon-filer, after 30% WHT
Rs 50,000Rs 281Rs 239Rs 197
Rs 1 lakhRs 562Rs 477Rs 393
Rs 2 lakhRs 1,123Rs 955Rs 786
Rs 5 lakhRs 2,808Rs 2,387Rs 1,966
Rs 10 lakhRs 5,617Rs 4,774Rs 3,932
Rs 25 lakhRs 14,042Rs 11,935Rs 9,829
Rs 50 lakhRs 28,083Rs 23,871Rs 19,658
Rs 1 croreRs 56,167Rs 47,742Rs 39,317

The arithmetic is deposit times 6.74 percent divided by 12, because profit is calculated on the daily balance and credited monthly. Over a full year at this rate, Rs 1 lakh earns about Rs 6,740 gross.

Where the 6.74 percent comes from

Meezan publishes its declared profit rates every month in its own Profit Rates sheet, and every figure on this page is from that document, read on 6 September 2026. The latest declaration covers the month ended 31 August 2026.

The rate is not an interest rate that the bank promises in advance. Meezan runs savings deposits on Mudarabah: depositors' money is invested, and the bank declares each month what the pool actually earned, after taking its share as Mudarib. So the rate is announced in arrears, month by month, and it moves; July to August it moved down, 7.04 to 6.74.

Every Meezan account that pays this rate

The August declaration puts the same 6.74 percent on essentially the whole savings family, for balances up to Rs 10 million:

AccountRate (Aug 2026, up to Rs 10M)
Rupee Saving Account (Individuals)6.74%
Meezan Bachat Account6.74%
Meezan Asaan Saving Account6.74%
Kids Club, Teens Club, Asaan Student6.74%
Meezan Senior Citizen Account6.74%
Meezan Women First Account6.74%
Meezan Roshan Digital Account (PKR)6.74%
Digital Asaan, Freelancer accounts6.74%

The August sheet is tiered, which is new detail worth knowing at scale: balances above Rs 10 million declare 6.11 to 6.67 percent depending on the account, so the very largest deposits earn slightly less than the headline.

Worth knowing before you open one expecting this rate anyway: Meezan Payroll Partner declared only 0.34 percent and Meezan Plus (Business Plus) only 0.19 percent for the same month. Those are transactional accounts, not savings products, and parking money there earns close to nothing.

If monthly income is the goal, the savings account is not the best Meezan product

The same August sheet declares materially higher rates on Meezan's certificates, which lock the money up but pay more every month:

ProductRate (Aug 2026)On Rs 1 lakh / monthOn Rs 1 crore / month
Saving account (baseline)6.74%Rs 562Rs 56,167
Monthly Mudarbah Certificate, Rs 50k+7.04%Rs 587Rs 58,667
COII 1 Year, monthly payout8.89%Rs 741Rs 74,083
COII 1 Year, senior citizen9.45%Rs 788Rs 78,750
COII 1.5 Years, monthly payout10.00%Rs 833Rs 83,333

All figures are gross, before the same withholding tax. COII needs a minimum of Rs 50,000 and the money is committed for the tenure, so it suits the portion of savings you will not need at short notice. On Rs 1 crore, the difference between the savings account and the 1.5 year COII is about Rs 27,000 a month. Note the certificate rates eased too, COII 1 Year from 9.01 to 8.89 percent, but by less than the savings account did.

Filer vs non-filer: the tax difference is bigger than the rate

Withholding tax on bank profit under Section 151 is 15 percent for filers and 30 percent for non-filers. On Rs 1 crore in savings that is about Rs 8,425 a month kept or lost, roughly Rs 101,000 a year, purely on filer status. If you hold a meaningful deposit and are not a filer, filing usually pays for itself out of this one line item.

The rate changes every month, so treat this page accordingly

Because the rate is declared monthly in arrears, the September declaration, published in early October, can differ from August's 6.74 percent, and the July to August move shows the direction rates are drifting in the current SBP policy environment. The numbers here are exact for the August declaration and indicative beyond it; the current sheet is always at Meezan's own profit rates page, linked in the sources below.
