About the UET ECAT Aggregate Calculator 2026 (Merit List 3 Out, 17/50/33)

Free UET Lahore ECAT aggregate calculator for the Fall 2026 engineering admission cycle. It applies the weighting exactly as UET publishes it in the Undergraduate Prospectus Fall 2026 under Determination of Merit: Entrance Test 33 percent, First Year 50 percent, Matric 17 percent.

That 17/50/33 split covers the Intermediate stream. UET uses different weightings for everyone else, and most calculators leave this out. O and A Level candidates use 33 percent ECAT plus 67 percent Class 11 marks. DAE diploma holders use 33 percent ECAT plus 67 percent from first and second year combined. B.Sc. Engineering Technology holders use 33 percent ECAT plus 67 percent from a seven semester CGPA, where a CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 counts as 60 percent and 4.0 counts as 90 percent. Non-ECAT programmes ignore the test entirely and run on Matric 25 percent plus First Year 75 percent. In every case UET requires a minimum 50 percent aggregate before you are eligible at all.

One detail that costs students marks: UET uses your FSc Part-1 result even if you have already finished Part-2. Part-1 is out of 520 or 505 depending on your board, and a strong Part-2 does not lift your merit.

ECAT itself is 100 questions in 100 minutes, 10 on English and 90 split equally across your other subjects, each worth 4 marks for a 400 total. There is no negative marking and no passing threshold. Candidates may sit more than one attempt and the best score is the one that counts, per Pakistan Engineering Council instructions. For context on where a score sits, UET's own ECAT Fall 2026 statistics put the Pre-Engineering average at 203 out of 400 and the Pre-Medical average at 222, with a top score of 396.

The Fall 2026 test cycle has closed. ECAT Phase 1 ran 30 March to 3 April with results on 17 April, and Phase 2 ran 16 to 21 June with results on 30 June. Admission has moved to merit lists, and all three are now published, the third on 14 August 2026.

The closing merit table on this page carries all three published lists, transcribed from UET's own reports: the Minimum Aggregate Report for List 1 and the Closing Merit Reports for Lists 2 and 3, covering 33 open merit programmes across Main Campus and Kala Shah Kaku. Merit List 3 published on 14 August 2026.

What the three lists together show is more useful than any single cut-off. Every programme fell, by 0.78 to 2.99 points overall, averaging 1.73. But the fall decelerates sharply: List 1 to List 2 averaged 1.36 points while List 2 to List 3 averaged only 0.37, and four programmes did not move at all on List 3. Computer Science at main campus went 87.47 to 85.44 and then stayed exactly there. The practical reading is that sitting two or three points below List 1 is worth waiting on, because most of the drop is still ahead of you, while sitting the same distance below List 3 is not, because the movement has largely stopped. Merit falls when selected candidates decline seats or miss the fee deadline, and by the third round most of those who were going to leave have gone. On List 3 the main campus ran from 70.58 for Geological Engineering to 85.75 for Cybersecurity. Software Engineering is offered at Kala Shah Kaku rather than main campus and closed at 80.26.

Two credits that can move merit and are missing from most calculators: a Hafiz-e-Quran can be awarded between zero and twenty additional marks by UET's verification committee after an oral test, and a sportsman can have up to ten marks added to intermediate marks. Both require ticking the relevant box on the online application form. For Pre-Medical candidates who took Mathematics as an additional subject, UET uses the first year Biology marks provided Mathematics is passed.

The calculator returns your Matric, FSc Part-1 and ECAT percentages, each component's weighted contribution and the final aggregate, plus a target estimator that works backwards to the minimum ECAT score needed for any aggregate you name. Figures shown are open merit, category A1, morning session. Reserved categories including Non-Muslim, overseas Pakistani, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and disabled are published separately by UET and generally close lower. NUST, GIKI, NED Karachi and FAST NU use their own formulas and their own entry tests, covered on their own pages. Always confirm against the current cycle prospectus on admission.uet.edu.pk. All computation runs client-side and no marks or personal academic data is transmitted or stored.

UET Lahore ECAT formula: Matric 17% + FSc Part-1 50% + ECAT 33%

This split applies to the Intermediate stream and covers all five UET campuses: Main (Lahore), New Campus (Kala Shah Kaku), Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Narowal. The prospectus asks for your First Year percentage, so enter whatever total your own board examines Part-I out of. On Punjab boards that is 570 for Pre-Engineering and 555 for Pre-Medical, and matric is out of 1200. Note that UET uses Part-1 even if you have already completed Part-2, so a strong Part-2 does not lift your merit. ECAT is out of 400.

Other streams drop the matric component entirely and use 33% entrance test plus 67% academic: O/A Level uses Class 11 marks, DAE holders use first- and second-year marks combined, and B.Sc. Engineering Technology holders use a seven-semester CGPA. Non-ECAT programmes ignore the test and use matric 25% + first year 75%. In every case UET requires a minimum 50% aggregate to be eligible at all. NUST, NED Karachi and GIKI use separate formulas covered on their own pages.

All three columns are transcribed from UET Lahore's own published reports on admission.uet.edu.pk: the Minimum Aggregate Report for Merit List 1, and the Closing Merit Reports for Merit Lists 2 and 3. Figures are open merit (category A1, morning, ECAT-based). Reserved categories such as Non-Muslim, overseas, Balochistan and disabled are listed separately by UET and generally close lower. Merit List 3 published on 14 August 2026 and is included above.

Key insight
Closing merit falls with every merit list. Do not judge yourself against List 1.
All 33 programmes fell across the three published lists, by 0.78 to 2.99 points, averaging 1.73. But the fall decelerates, and that is the part worth planning around. List 1 to List 2 averaged 1.36 points; List 2 to List 3 averaged only 0.37, and 4 programmes did not move at all. Computer Science at main campus went 87.47 to 85.44 and then stayed exactly there.

So the practical reading is this. Sitting two or three points below List 1 is worth waiting on, because most of the drop is still ahead of you. Sitting two or three points below List 3 is not, because the movement has largely stopped. Merit falls because selected candidates decline seats or miss the fee deadline, and by the third round most of those who were going to leave have already left.

On the arithmetic: ECAT carries 33% of the aggregate and is scored out of 400, so each ECAT mark moves your aggregate by 0.0825% and every 10 marks by 0.83%. The 3.96-point gap between Computer Science (85.44) and Civil (81.48) on List 2 is about 48 ECAT marks. FSc Part-1 still carries the single largest weight at 50%.

How to use the UET ECAT Aggregate Calculator 2026 (Merit List 3 Out, 17/50/33)

  1. Enter your Matric (SSC) obtained marks and total. Typically 1100 for Pakistani boards; some boards use 850 or 1050.
  2. Enter your FSc Part-1 (HSSC-I) obtained marks and total. Total is typically 520 for Punjab boards or 505 for some other boards. ECAT admissions run before Part-2 results publish so we use Part-1 only.
  3. Enter your ECAT score and total (400 default). ECAT is 100 questions in 100 minutes, 10 on English and 90 split across your other subjects, each worth 4 marks. There is no negative marking, and if you sat both phases your best score is the one that counts.
  4. Read the aggregate breakdown showing your Matric, FSc Part-1 and ECAT percentages plus each component's weighted contribution (17/50/33).
  5. Use the target-aggregate estimator: enter any target percentage to see the minimum ECAT score needed given your Matric and FSc Part-1 inputs.
  6. Cross-reference against the Fall 2026 closing merit table, taken from UET's own Merit List 1 and 2 reports, to see which programmes your aggregate clears. Judge yourself against the latest list, not the first: every programme fell between List 1 and List 2.
