How Matric Aggregate Is Calculated in Pakistan
Matric (Secondary School Certificate, SSC) in Pakistan is a two-year programme with a two-part exam: SSC Part 1 taken at the end of Class 9 (550 marks) and SSC Part 2 taken at the end of Class 10 (550 marks). Combined total is 1100 marks. Your aggregate percentage is a straightforward division: total obtained marks divided by 1100, times 100.
Worked example: 960 obtained out of 1100 gives 960 / 1100 × 100 = 87.27 percent, which is a solid A1 grade. If your board uses a non-standard total (some older cycles use 850 marks, Karachi Board 1050 in specific years, Pre-Engineering with extra optionals goes up to 1200), just change the total field above and the calculator handles the proportion correctly.
Universal Pakistani Matric Grade Table
Every Pakistani board (BISE Lahore, Karachi, Federal Board Islamabad, AJK Mirpur and 20+ others) uses this identical grading scale. So a Federal Board 87 percent and a BISE Karachi 87 percent both map to grade A1 with the same distinction status:

For direct BS admission (arts, business, sciences, non-engineering, non-medical) most Pakistani universities weight your Matric percentage with your Inter (HSSC / FSC) percentage. The two most common patterns:

Worked example on 50/50: Matric 87.27 percent + Inter 84.5 percent = (87.27 × 0.50) + (84.5 × 0.50) = 85.89 percent aggregate. This is competitive for most Punjab University BS programmes but below the general merit for BSCS at FAST Lahore or NUST H-12.

Grade A1 is often called "A One" and represents distinction-level performance. Most competitive colleges use it as the minimum threshold for the general merit list. Toppers usually score 1000 to 1075 out of 1100 (90.9 to 97.7 percent).
