About the Gas Bill Calculator Pakistan 2026 (SNGPL + SSGC OGRA Slabs)
Free Pakistan gas bill calculator covering both SNGPL (Sui Northern serving Punjab, KPK, AJK, Islamabad) and SSGC (Sui Southern serving Sindh and Balochistan), updated to OGRA's FY 2025-26 domestic tariff determination effective 1 July 2025. Handles the three consumer categories: Protected (4-month winter Nov to Feb average consumption at or below 0.9 hm3, uniform lower slab rates Rs 200 to Rs 350 per MMBTU with Rs 600 fixed charge), Non-Protected (winter average above 0.9 hm3 or any consumer crossing the 0.9 hm3 boundary, progressive rate slabs starting at Rs 500 per MMBTU and climbing to Rs 4,200 per MMBTU above 4.0 hm3, plus fixed monthly charge stepping from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 at the 2 hm3 boundary), and Commercial (flat Rs 3,900 per MMBTU, minimum bill Rs 6,415). Progressive slab concession applies for non-protected consumers up to 4 hm3 (only the excess portion in each tier is billed at the higher slab rate), but consumers above 4 hm3 lose the concession and pay the full Rs 4,200 per MMBTU on their entire consumption per OGRA rules. The killer feature is a live slab-crossing warning that fires when your current month usage is within 0.05 hm3 of the next slab boundary. Full breakdown includes slab-by-slab base energy charge, monthly fixed charge, meter rent Rs 40, GST 18 percent, and optional TV fee Rs 35. Built for Pakistani households, small businesses and commercial consumers. All calculations run client-side in your browser.
SNGPL serves Punjab, KPK, AJK and Islamabad. OGRA-notified consumer slabs identical to SSGC.
Non-protected: winter average above 0.9 hm3. Progressive slabs Rs 500-4,200 per MMBTU + Rs 1,500 or Rs 3,000 fixed charge.
Read from your Sui gas bill (Current minus Previous meter reading, usually shown as usage in hm3).
Default 3.5. Typical SNGPL / SSGC range 3.5 to 3.6. Check your bill's Gas Sale Rate section for the exact value.
You are 0.001 hm3 away from the next slab
Current rate: Rs 1250 per MMBTU. Next slab jumps to Rs 1450, a Rs 200 increase per MMBTU on any consumption above the boundary. Consider reducing geyser or space heater use in the last few days of the billing cycle to stay inside the current slab.
| Slab | hm3 | MMBTU | Rate | Charge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 0.25 hm3 | 0.250 | 0.875 | Rs 500 | Rs 438 |
| Up to 0.60 hm3 | 0.350 | 1.225 | Rs 850 | Rs 1,041 |
| Up to 1.00 hm3 | 0.400 | 1.400 | Rs 1250 | Rs 1,750 |
| Base energy subtotal | Rs 3,229 | |||
Stay under 0.9 hm3 winter average. Delta between protected Rs 200-350 per MMBTU and non-protected Rs 500+ per MMBTU is the single biggest saving in the whole tariff structure.
Never cross 4.0 hm3 in one month. Concession withdrawal above 4 hm3 pushes the entire bill to Rs 4200 per MMBTU. A 4.1 hm3 bill can cost Rs 15,000-30,000 more than a 3.9 hm3 bill.
Shift heating loads to induction electric. Especially useful if you have net-metered solar; solar export credit at Rs 11/unit (NAEPP) plus reduced gas consumption can save Rs 3,000-8,000 per month on combined utility bills.
Domestic gas slabs verified against OGRA's FY 2025-26 tariff determination effective 1 July 2025. Consumer-side slabs are identical for both SNGPL and SSGC because OGRA harmonises category-wise domestic prices. Prescribed prices differ (SNGPL Rs 1,719, SSGC Rs 1,691 per MMBTU) but do not affect the consumer bill; those set the government subsidy per unit. Rates hold through FY 2025-26 (30 June 2026) unless the federal government notifies a mid-year adjustment.
Verify current rates on the official SSGC domestic tariff page or SNGPL website. This is an estimate tool. Actual bills may vary due to meter reading rounding, heating value variation, arrears, LPS surcharges, and cycle-specific OGRA notifications.
Protected status is verified against a 4-month winter (Nov to Feb) rolling average, not the single month you enter here. Even if a single summer month reads above 0.9 hm3, your protected status carries through until the following winter cycle averages recalculate. Bills may show the higher slab temporarily during transition.
How to use the Gas Bill Calculator Pakistan 2026 (SNGPL + SSGC OGRA Slabs)
- Pick your gas utility: SNGPL (Sui Northern, covering Punjab, KPK, AJK and Islamabad) or SSGC (Sui Southern, covering Sindh and Balochistan). Both apply identical OGRA-notified consumer slabs, so switching only changes the coverage note and does not affect the bill amount.
- Choose consumer type: Protected (4-month winter Nov to Feb average consumption at or below 0.9 hm3, subsidised rates), Non-protected (winter average above 0.9 hm3, progressive slab rates with higher fixed charges), or Commercial (shops, restaurants, offices, hospitals at flat Rs 3,900 per MMBTU).
- Enter consumption in hm3 (hundred cubic meters, the meter reading unit on your Sui gas bill). Reading is usually shown as Current minus Previous meter reading in your bill's usage section.
- Adjust the hm3 to MMBTU conversion factor if you know your bill's specific heat content (default 3.5 MMBTU per hm3 matches typical SNGPL and SSGC billing).
- Toggle TV fee inclusion if your gas bill has the Rs 35 TV fee added (some utilities bill it separately or via the DISCO electricity bill).
- Read the result. The primary card shows total payable and effective per hm3 rate. Slab-by-slab breakdown table shows exactly which OGRA rate applied to which portion of your consumption. Watch for the red slab-crossing warning if your usage is close to the next boundary. Verify against your actual bill; deviations of Rs 100 to 300 are normal from meter reading rounding and heating value variation.
