About the Roshan Apni Car Calculator 2026 (KIBOR + 1%, Overseas Pakistanis)

Free Roshan Apni Car calculator for Non-Resident Pakistanis financing a vehicle in Pakistan through a Roshan Digital Account. Quick answer: a Rs 20 lakh car with 30 percent down (Rs 14 lakh financed) over 5 years comes to roughly Rs 31,100 per month at the scheme's non-lien pricing, against roughly Rs 32,100 at the cheapest resident product and Rs 33,600 at the most expensive. Stretch to the scheme's 7-year tenure and the monthly drops to about Rs 24,600.

The reason the scheme is worth using is the spread, not a headline rate. State Bank publishes Roshan Apni Car pricing as a benchmark plus a fixed margin: the **lien-based** product at SBP Floor plus 1.0 percent floating, or Certificate of Deposit rate plus 1 percent fixed; the **non-lien** product at 1-Year KIBOR plus 1.0 percent floating, or PKRV plus 1.5 percent fixed. Resident car financing runs KIBOR plus 2.5 percent at the cheapest (Bank AL Habib) through KIBOR plus 4.0 to 4.5 percent (MCB, Bank Alfalah). So an overseas Pakistani is offered a margin **1.5 to 3.5 percentage points below** anything a resident can get on the same car. On Rs 14 lakh over 5 years that is roughly Rs 64,000 less markup than the best resident deal and roughly Rs 152,000 less than the most expensive.

A note on a figure circulating widely: several sites state Roshan Apni Car carries a flat 7 percent rate. State Bank's own scheme page does not say that, and neither does any participating bank's page checked here. The published pricing is benchmark-linked as above, so the all-in rate moves with KIBOR, the SBP floor or PKRV. Treat the 7 percent claim with caution and read the rate written on your offer letter.

Lien versus non-lien is the first decision. **Lien-based** financing holds funds already in your Roshan Digital Account as security, which is what allows the lowest equity requirement and the SBP-floor-linked pricing. **Non-lien** (also called remittance-based) does not encumber your balance, prices off KIBOR instead, and asks a conventional down payment. If you already hold the money in your RDA and do not need it liquid, lien is normally cheaper; if you would rather keep the balance free, non-lien costs a little more for that flexibility.

Eligibility is not automatic, and this is where the widely-repeated claim that Roshan Apni Car needs no income verification breaks down. Bank AL Habib, to take one participating bank's published criteria, asks for minimum 2 years employment for salaried applicants or 3 years for contractual and self-employed, income equivalent to DHS 10,000 for Gulf-based applicants or USD 3,000 for those elsewhere, minimum age 25 at application, maximum age 60 at maturity for salaried or 65 for self-employed, a clear credit history, and valid residency or work permits. Criteria vary between banks, so check the specific bank rather than assuming the scheme is uniform.

How it works in practice: you need an active Roshan Digital Account and a valid NICOP, CNIC or SNIC. The vehicle is registered to a nominee in Pakistan who must be a close relative, typically spouse, parents, children or siblings. The application runs fully digitally through the bank's portal, with State Bank describing the process as paperless and materially faster than conventional financing. Participating banks include Meezan, Bank AL Habib, Bank Alfalah, HBL, MCB, Allied, Bank of Punjab, HabibMetro and Faysal, with both Islamic and conventional structures available depending on the bank.

Down payment varies by bank and by vehicle variant rather than following one scheme-wide rule. Bank AL Habib publishes 15 to 45 percent depending on the variant. Enter your own figure above along with the rate your bank quotes, since the benchmark moves and the margin is what the scheme fixes, not the all-in number.

State Bank publishes this scheme as a benchmark plus a fixed margin, not a flat rate: non-lien at 1Y KIBOR + 1.0 percent, lien at SBP Floor + 1.0 percent. Residents pay KIBOR + 2.5 to 4.5 percent on the same car. Several sites quote a flat 7 percent for this scheme; SBP's own page does not support that.

Leaves your RDA balance free. Priced at 1-Year KIBOR plus 1.0 percent floating, or PKRV plus 1.5 percent fixed. Asks a conventional down payment.

Varies by bank and vehicle variant rather than one scheme rule. Bank AL Habib publishes 15 to 45 percent; lien-based generally allows the lowest equity.

The scheme runs longer than most resident products. Weigh the lower monthly against the higher total markup.

The scheme fixes the MARGIN (1.0 percent over 1Y KIBOR), not the all-in rate. Default seeds from an indicative benchmark; enter what your bank quotes.

Before you apply

  • Active Roshan Digital Account plus a valid NICOP, CNIC or SNIC
  • The vehicle goes to a nominee in Pakistan who must be a close relative: spouse, parent, child or sibling
  • Income IS verified despite claims otherwise. Bank AL Habib asks 2 years employment (3 for self-employed), income equivalent to DHS 10,000 in the Gulf or USD 3,000 elsewhere, age 25 to 60 or 65, clear credit history, valid residency permit
  • Criteria and vehicle rules differ more between banks than the pricing does, so compare on those rather than on rate alone

Resident buyer instead? Compare the 8 local banks. For the Shariah-compliant route, Meezan Car Ijarah runs its Roshan variant on the same Ijarah structure.

How to use the Roshan Apni Car Calculator 2026 (KIBOR + 1%, Overseas Pakistanis)

  1. Pick your financing mode. Lien-based holds funds already in your Roshan Digital Account as security and prices off the SBP floor; non-lien (remittance-based) leaves your balance free and prices off 1-Year KIBOR.
  2. Enter the vehicle price. New Pakistani cars 2026: Suzuki Alto around Rs 2.5-3M, Cultus Rs 3.8-4.2M, Toyota Corolla Rs 5.5-7M, Honda Civic Rs 7.5-9.5M.
  3. Set your down payment. This varies by bank and by vehicle variant rather than one scheme-wide rule; Bank AL Habib publishes 15 to 45 percent. Lien-based financing generally allows the lowest equity.
  4. Set tenure. The scheme runs longer than most resident products, so compare the monthly against the total markup before stretching it out.
  5. Set the rate. The scheme fixes the MARGIN (plus 1.0 percent on KIBOR for non-lien, plus 1.0 on the SBP floor for lien), not the all-in rate, so enter what your bank quotes. The default here assumes 1Y KIBOR around 10.89 plus the 1 percent scheme margin.
  6. Compare against the resident column. Residents pay KIBOR plus 2.5 to 4.5 percent, so the same car costs a Pakistan-based buyer measurably more.
